Current Lead Time Information
In the interest of full transparency for those currently awaiting a Printed Precision Trickler, below you may find details regarding the most recent reservation number backlog and trickler system production status:
As of November 12th production has reached reservation number 47 with interested parties contacted for order fullfillment, and the highest reservation number is currently 109.
Current production figures as of November 12th are at approximately 5-8 units per week.
If your reservation number is lower than that of the latest fulfilled order and you have not received an additional reply to the original reservation number email, please check your spam folder and/or reach out to my contact email so I can make sure that you are not missed in the production queue.
I would like to apologize for the miss of my production targets in the second half of October. Between switching over to the newer glass hoppers and increased demands on my time from work/life, I was not able to keep up with the production capacity of my printers in terms of assembly, testing, and shipping. Because I am currently a one-man operation my own schedule has a disproportionate impact on production figures, and I am still actively working to bring in additional help to mitigate this risk factor. My last production estimate prior to this of 8-10 units per week appears to have been somewhat optimistic until some additional help can be secured, so I have revised that figure to a more conservative 5-8 units per week barring other unforseen challenges.
In that vein, another hurdle encountered when I was once again available to continue producing was delays in response, or no response at all, to notificaitons of unit availability for those next in line on the reservation list. As a new and growing small business that focused first on expanding manufacturing capabilities for the printed parts, I have not yet established a substantial inventory of all COTS components used in the tricklers. I have a sizeable quantity of the lower-cost components, such as LEDs and buttons, built up and ready for future use but am still working on building up stores of the more expensive components such as motors, motor controllers, and microcontrollers.
In light of this, going forwards I will establish a standard practice of waiting for 3 days to hear back before offering the unit to the next reservation number in the order. This policy will allow me to keep units moving since I am still a growing small business that does not yet have substantial inventory of components on hand. Shipped orders are how I am able to purchase more components for future orders. I have used previous order revenue to build up both production capacity and inventory of the various lower-cost components to ensure production continuity, but I am still working on acquiring sufficient quantities of more expensive components, such as the processors and motor controllers, to make sure production can continue uninterrupted even with these normal and expected delays in response times.
If you are notified of a unit's availability and you have not responded in this time period, I will send a follow-up email notifying you that the units was made available to another reservation down the list. That said, because I completely understand that many others are just as busy as myself, those who have been passed over in this fashion will not lose their place in line. If I receive a later response to that unit availability notice confirming interest in the trickler I will still fulfill the reservation with the next available unit, it just means that I will handle the invoicing and shipping of your order when the next unspoken-for unit finishes production. This is to avoid putting any customers in the position of sending payment for a unit that has not yet been assembled and tested, in limbo wondering when their paid order might ship.
I do apologize again for my previous overly-optimistic estimate of the impact the switch to glass hoppers might have, as well as the additional effects of my own availability in the latter half of October. My hope that this policy change combined with my return to normal availability will work together to keep units shipping out more steadily moving forwards, and I thank all of those with upcoming reservation numbers for their continued patience and understanding.
